New Tote on the Block PDF Sewing Pattern
New Tote on the Block PDF Sewing Pattern
The New Tote on the Block is a sewing pattern for a color block tote bag in two sizes. This pattern is simple to put together and comes with several color blocking variations. There are two closure options. See last picture for fabric recommendations. This pattern is best for confident beginners and up. Diagrams and a photo tutorial are included.
There are also instructions for seven different types of pockets so that you can get just the right pocket configuration inside and out.
Because of all the pattern choices, there are many pages in the pattern piece documents--it is NOT necessary to print all of the pages. The pattern gives instructions on exactly which pages you need so that you can save paper.

You will receive a zipped file with five files:
1. The first is the pattern instructions. This pattern includes 27 pages of instructions, with detailed diagrams and a photo tutorial. Pattern instructions are given in both inches and centimeters.
2-3. Second and third are the separate files for the Small tote and Large tote pattern pieces. The smaller tote comes with 28 pages of pattern pieces (it is not necessary to print all 28), and the large tote comes with 40 pages of pattern pieces (see pattern for detailed info on which pages to print). Pattern pieces can be printed on Letter or A4 paper.
4. The fourth file is an A0/copyshop file meant to be printed at a copy shop or on a large format printer. This is three pages. There is a print release on that file in the bottom left corner.
5. The fifth file is a Projector file. An increasing number of people are utilizing projectors for sewing. This file includes several layers with a 1” and 4 cm grid each on their own layer and each size on a layer. There are also inverted layers, which have a black background and white lines and work better on certain fabrics. The exterior, lining and interfacing pieces are each on their own page.
The A0 and Projector files were included April 2023. If you purchased the pattern before this, contact me through the Contact link to receive the new files.
