October Update
After my last blog entry I managed to make a lot of new clothes for myself in a short period. It’s really nice to have some new warm weather clothes! Now I’m starting to think about new cool-weather clothes! I threw in a couple photos of a hoodie I made for my daughter.
I don’t make many things for my husband. He likes things with collars and buttons and felled seams… I like making quick projects! Plus my machine is not doing well with button holes and it needs to be serviced. Anyway, he likes pocket squares, and when I saw some fun plaid shirtings at Joanns, I made him some fun colorful pocket squares.
I have a Sewing Summit coming up, and I will be teaching how to make this fun Moroccan-style storage ottoman! I enjoyed making this project.
My stocking season has not really started yet. I’ve had a couple orders here and there. I expanded my colors offered for my jacquard stockings (most shown before) but stopped offering the brightly colored faux silk stockings because I had issues with my suppliers last year. Plus I still have several colors of velvet.
I started teaching early-morning Seminary to the high school students at church. That means I wake up at 5 every morning to get ready for a 6:00 am class, every school day. We study the scriptures! I spend a lot of time preparing lessons, and even after a month, my body has not gotten used to this sleep schedule. I went to bed last night at 9:00 pm and then woke up at 3:00 am! I have a very heavy manual and some days I bring my laptop, so I needed a very heavy-duty bag. I drafted this to match the small purse I made a few months ago. It works pretty well, but when loaded down with everything, it’s still very heavy.
Finally, I actually filmed another Sewing Summit video that will be coming out in late November! These mini stockings match my Yuletide Stocking pattern and are perfect for little cutlery holders for Christmas.
